Method

Prepare the base

Grease and line the base of a 23 cm tart tin with a removable bottom.

Combine crushed biscuits with melted butter, then press evenly into the base and up the sides of the tin.

Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to set.

Make the filling

Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.

In a small saucepan, heat cream, sugar, and vanilla until just below boiling point.

Pour hot cream mixture over the chocolate, let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.

Add cubed butter and stir until glossy.

Assemble the tart

Pour the chocolate filling into the chilled tart shell.

Smooth the surface and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
